![]() ![]() I guess when you have a good story, you don’t need $200 million in CGI and special effects. What will really blow your mind is that this film was made on a shoestring budget of only $15 million. ![]() I’ll admit, the film drags at times between battles and attacks, but a good plot means you can’t have non-stop action or the audience would be exhausted. Facing impossible odds, our protagonists (Japanese Navy veterans and civilians) employ science and ingenuity to take on a seemingly invincible, radioactive creature from the deep. This is not a multi-monster extravaganza and Godzilla is not a good guy this time around. This is a Japanese movie with English subtitles that kicks things off at the end of World War II in war-torn Tokyo. It’s essentially a reimagined version of the first Godzilla film released in 1954. I’ve been watching Godzilla movies since I was five years old. “Godzilla Minus One” is one of the best Godzilla movies ever made! I should know. ![]()
